Directorate: Adult Care, Housing & Public Health

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Adult Care, Housing and Public Health Directorate as a Housing Business Support Assistant who can provide confidential, secretarial, and administrative support to Senior Management.

This role will include diary and inbox management, arranging meetings (internal and external), organising associated meeting papers along with minute taking and completing action logs. As minute taking is required, excellent listening and documentation skill are very important.

We need someone who can prioritise tasks, work at a fast pace and can clearly communicate when tasks have been completed or are still outstanding, therefore excellent communication skills are paramount.

You will be required to assist with travel arrangements, which may include booking train tickets, car parking and accommodation, we require someone who has good attention to detail and is confident with making these types of bookings.

You will be logging and tracking internal and external correspondence, and following up for further information where necessary to ensure that responses are provided within the council’s set deadlines. We would be looking for someone who is highly organised to keep track of these and meet these deadlines, we would also be looking for someone who is confident to follow up with people and raise any issues with their line manager where necessary.

We would expect excellent literacy skills as part of this role. You will be required to create a variety of letters and documents, and these must be completed to a high standard.

There will be other tasks that come up along the way as is the nature of this being a varied role, we are looking for someone who can rise to new challenges, work well as part of a team, and provide excellent support to Senior Management
