**Role Purpose**

The Stock and Stores Person will be responsible for the effective management of all inward goods, deliveries, and internal stock movements. This role ensures the right materials are in the right place at the right time, supporting production efficiency and customer delivery commitments. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Purchasing Manager, this person will maintain accurate stock records, ensure timely replenishment, and support quality and compliance processes.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Inward Goods & Deliveries**:

- Receive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries, ensuring goods are checked against purchase orders for quantity and quality.
- Coordinate with suppliers on delivery discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Book deliveries into the relevant business systems (A+W, DocuWare, and/or other ERP tools).
- Ensure all materials are stored safely and in the correct location.

**Internal Stock Moves & Allocation**:

- Move stock between work areas as required, ensuring safe handling and transport.
- Allocate stock to jobs in line with production schedules and the Operations Manager’s instructions.
- Work with the Purchasing Manager to ensure stock allocation matches order requirements and minimises waste.

**Stock Control & Replenishment**:

- Maintain accurate, real-time stock records in business systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in full stock takes.
- Identify and report low stock levels in line with agreed minimum/maximum thresholds.
- Action replenishment requests and liaise with purchasing to ensure timely ordering.

**Supplier Management & Documentation**:

- Complete supplier questionnaires, compliance forms, and quality-related documentation when required.
- Maintain supplier records, including certifications and relevant compliance documents.
- Assist with onboarding of new suppliers from a stock and stores perspective.

**System Management & Reporting**:

- Update and maintain stock management systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Provide regular reports to the Operations Manager and Purchasing Manager on stock movements, shortages, and overstock risks.
- Highlight opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements in storage and stock control.

**Health, Safety & Compliance**:

- Ensure all stock handling is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
- Keep the stores area clean, organised, and compliant with workplace safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and lifting equipment in line with training and certification.

**Skills & Attributes**:

- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Good IT skills, ideally with experience in stock management or ERP systems.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to ensuring stock availability.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Experience in a stores, stock control, or warehouse role essential
- Experience with glass industry products and handling (advantageous)
