Head of Technical SEO

We’re looking for a talented Head of Technical SEO to join our experienced organic search team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop Fresh Egg’s technical SEO function into a powerhouse of transformation, driving innovation through R&D and publishing case results to the digital marketing community, demonstrating that Fresh Egg is the leading source of technical SEO expertise and advice. You will need to have a sound grasp of how important SEO is within the digital landscape, and how we can utilise it to benefit our clients, be passionate about creating and implementing strong SEO strategies to make our clients more discoverable and useful in search. **Skills, knowledge and experience**
In this role, you will be expected to devise and implement a variety of technical SEO disciplines and lead strategic conversations with clients about taking recommendations forwards. You will need to combine clear, supportive, and confident leadership with hands-on practitioner expertise and a strong commercial focus, working with the technical SEO specialists and the wider team to develop and enhance new and existing products and services. Be knowledgeable and confident in order to attend client meetings to consult and advise, contribute to pitches, produce strong written deliverables and deliver training. **Key responsibilities**:

- Work closely with all relevant client stakeholders and colleagues in other Fresh Egg service areas to ensure that client accounts have a robust overall technical strategy in place
- Thoroughly understand the digital industry and client businesses to enable driving of strategic plans and expansion of technical SEO services
- Forecast and measure performance impact clearly across all recommended SEO activity
- Position Fresh Egg as the premier choice for technical SEO advice and to be recognised in the UK as the top agency for managing complex site migrations
- Ensure that account and project activities are well-managed, producing results and delivered on time and budget
- Develop retained services for Fresh Egg, reporting on value and performance
- Understand the products/services, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives of each of the clients you work on
- Conclude a technical toolkit of software platforms that are required to deliver a seamless and robust SEO service
- Carry out detailed initial consultancies/audits for assigned new clients as required
- Work closely with the conversion and design teams to ensure that all concepts, prototypes, wireframes and UX recommendations are audience-focussed and demonstrate SEO best practices
- Support the client services team with growth proposals, identifying and scoping opportunities to increase SEO-related revenue
- Support the business development team with pre-sale activities, driving leads and increasing SEO-related new business for the agency
- Be aware of the latest trends and support by evolving the SEO service, keeping it up to date, efficient and relevant with advances in AI
- Consider the commerciality of an in-depth technical SEO syllabus, qualifying the needs from our audience and thinking about offering services for intense training courses or how the training might integrate with the Fresh Egg academy

**What you will have**:

- Experience in a similar role at a senior level and excellent leadership skills
- Be fully up-to-date with industry developments
- Skilled at identifying clients’ needs and designing bespoke technical strategies for them to achieve their goals
- A passion for emerging platforms and a broad knowledge of effective SEO strategies and techniques
- An excellent understanding of Google and Google’s Search Quality Guidelines
- Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and web standards
- Good knowledge of JavaScript
- Highly experienced in using of Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- Analytical, with a proven ability to interpret large amounts of information and research, with the ability to distil the most important/relevant information
- Passionate about best-in-class customer experience
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Highly literate and numerate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to deliver clear and concise ideas to internal and external stakeholders and produce top quality written documentation
- Excellent face-to-face presentation skills, with the gravitas and credibility to deliver new ideas and report on successes
