Luxborough Court School is a brand new modern purpose built school that was completed in 2017. It is registered for 150 pupils aged 5 - 19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

There are approximately 20 classrooms, comprising a mixture of general teaching rooms for all year groups and more specialised science, food tech and DT classrooms. There is a large sports hall with changing facilities and there is a bespoke 6th form suite.

There are a number of other smaller individual spaces used for therapeutic intervention and bespoke support packages.

The School benefits from extensive outdoor space, including an area for the delivery of horticulture. There is a large central courtyard garden in the centre of the school and separate secondary and junior playgrounds and a fenced off multi-use games area.

There are good public transport connections with Chigwell Station one mile away, providing London Underground Central Line services to central London and other Essex towns. The road links are good and the site is located adjacent to the M11 although accessto it is approximately 2.3 miles south at Woodford Junction 4. The M11 links from Cambridge to London.

**The Role**

As part of our Multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision of psychological support and assessments for pupils and residents under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist. You’ll then create plans for psychological interventions, decidingon the best evidence based approaches to deliver results. Working as part of the team around the child that enable positive outcomes, you’ll liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to meet the needs of the children and young people wholive and learn with us. Some may exhibit very challenging behaviour, so both a resilient and empathetic approach will be key. Internally, you’ll be using your experience to support and develop the skills of the wider team, such as Residential Care staff andeducation staff.

**Be the Assistant Psychologist you always wanted to be**

With a degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, you’ll be eligible for graduate BPS membership. Your degree should include components relating to young people and mental health or autism, plus you’ll have worked with young people with SEMH and/or ASD for aminimum of 2 years. With this background, you’ll know all about safeguarding rules and practice.

A degree of flexibility is required, between 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday (37 hours a week).
