Support Worker

I have a **BRILLIANT** opportunity for a Children's Support Worker to join a **STUNNING** children's residential service supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 who present a range of emotional, behavioural & complex interpersonal behavioural needs.

We are looking for a **COMMITTED,** **DEDICATED** and **PASSIONATE** individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

You will be positive, motivated, and able to engage, encourage and mentor the young people, whilst having a whole lot of fun

**Salary: £29,048 - £32,288 (sleep allowance included)**

**Location: Corwen, Denbighshire (LL21 postcode)**

**Contract: Permanent**

**Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week plus sleeps**

**Rota Pattern: 2 on 4 off shift pattern**

**As a Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for**:

- Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- Keeping the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Providing support for the children and young people in the home and promoting their independence and well-being.
- Maintaining a safe environment for young people.
- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual’s; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives such as Psychologists.

**Requirements**:

- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People is not essential but desirable
- 1-year experience in a residential children's home environment is not essential but desirable
- A Full Driving Licence is **ESSENTIAL** as you may be required to transport the children from time to time
- Ability to work the shift pattern (8am-10pm plus sleep ins)
