**SEND Behaviour Support Assistant**
**Overview**:
Are you a skilled SEND Behaviour Support Assistant passionate about helping children with SEND? We are looking for a dedicated professional to provide behaviour support for children with SEND. _**Referrals are provided by the local authority and are on a temporary, self employed basis.**_
**Position**: SEND Behaviour Support Assistant
**Location**: Hadleigh, Suffolk
**Hours**: Term Time Only/Self Employed/Temporary/Zero Hours **(this current role is 12:15 - 15:15 Monday to Friday based in Hadleigh, Suffolk. Based in the child's home, temporary until July 22nd 2025**:_**The 6-year-old boy is non-verbal and has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He has experienced domestic violence within the home, which has led to him mimicking this behaviour towards staff. It is important to note that this behaviour is not a result of dysregulation but rather learned behaviour.**_).
**Pay**: £25 PH
**Start Date**: 3rd February 2025
**The Role**:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated **SEND Behaviour Support Assistant** to work closely with our _Therapeutic SEND Practitioner _on a 2:1 basis. You will play a key role in supporting children with challenging behaviours across various settings, including their school, home or community.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide tailored behaviour support to children under the guidance of the SEND Therapeutic Practitioner.
- Assist during sessions and activities, ensuring the child’s safety and wellbeing.
- Build trusting relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of coping strategies.

**About You**:
- Experience working with children with SEND and/or challenging behaviours is essential.
- Understanding of therapeutic approaches or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work flexibly across various settings, including schools, homes and communities.

Sendsory is a specialised alternative provision service that offers a Therapeutic Curriculum and a SEND Specialist Teaching Service.
We support primary-aged children with SEND who are awaiting specialist placement, those disengaging from mainstream education and children at risk of permanent exclusion or who have been permanently excluded.
Our programmes are designed to support children in regulating their emotions, improve behaviour, communication and social skills and achieve success in their education.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: £25.00 per hour
