Your primary responsibility will be working from one of our homes based in the Pontypool area supporting and organising your team to help our service users to live life as independently as their disabilities allow.

This role requires someone who is organised, has good people skills, able to work as part of a team and is happy to work their share of day/evening and Sleepover Shifts.

This role will also include Rota’d on call responsibilities which will be factored into the negotiable salary offered with this role.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership and support to the staff team and ensure that a safe and efficient service is maintained
- To build open, professional relationships with the individuals you are working with ensuring their needs and wishes are encouraged and acted on
- Supervise support staff and effectively evaluate individual performance, recognising good practice whilst identifying and addressing weaker areas of practice
- Liaise with outside agencies and other professionals in order to ensure individuals receive the support they require
- Maintain regular contact with Management in order to discuss team performance, any issues and to provide general feedback

**Duties Include**:

- Ensure medication is ordered on the correct day and all medication records are up to date and accurate
- Contribute to the review of individuals’ service delivery plans and risk assessments
- Monitor staff team’s performance ensuring each are working in accordance with service delivery plans and risk assessments
- Arrange and facilitate your own staff team’s supervision sessions ensuring time-frames are in accordance with national minimum standards
- Support new team members into the team and coach them to work in accordance with what is expected of them
- Facilitate regular team meetings with your staff team, ensuring minutes are taken and recorded
- Ensure a full staff duty rota is maintained; arranging cover for annual leave
- Ensure knowledge, understanding and compliance with Health & Safety matters and fire regulations within the house

**Requirements**:

- To work on a full time basis including a share of weekends
- To be part of the on-call rota
- Attend regular training and development in order to develop within your role
- To hold a minimum of level 2 QCF in Health & Social Care and have a willingness to work towards a further level 3 or above

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Negotiable. Overtime hours offered at enhanced pay of £13p/h
