We have a current opportunity for a Application Architect on a contract basis. The position will be based in either belfast or Solihull twice a week. This role is INSIDE IR35.
As a software Application Architect, you will work with other Application Architects, business teams, clients and PF UK IT team, providing software design and documentation for delivery in line with the Architecture roadmap. These will follow guidelines andprincipals and best practise for the Software Development Lifecycle. This will include Software High level and Low level designs as well as contribution to the group architecture tooling, ensuring the designs are in line with standards, best practises, architectureroadmaps and the delivery of the strategic IT Applications roadmap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all project technical solutions are fully documented and aligned to group standards. These documented designs should be handed over to the Delivery Manager, Senior Team Leads/Senior Developers to deliver internally or with external resources.
- Work with Head of Application Architecture, Principal Application Architect, Application Architects and PF UK EA Team to align with PF-UK group Architecture documentation (PSD)
- Provide conceptual High level design and guidance on High level estimates for project delivery for investment mandates prior to project initiation.
- Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the High level software design is in line with the Strategic IT Enterprise Architecture roadmap.
- Responsible for the end to end Low Level Design and documentation of strategic new projects before they progress. Working in partnership with Infrastructure, Architecture, Operations and development to drive and agree the best solution for our business.
- Ensuring coding standards are being followed. Make recommendations/suggest changes and peer reviewing on a regular basis - this will include low-level Solution review as part of the Agile Iteration delivery.
- Ensure all technical web projects are in line with group guidelines
- Ensure the construction teams have the full design and documentation to deliver the software components and that they are reviewed to ensure the design and delivery are in line.
- Work with Principal Application Architects, Enterprise Architecture team and Product Development to deliver the strategic goal of making integrations easier for our partners (Business As a Service)
- Assist the Principal Application Architect to ensure all API's and services are exposed through group Standards and tooling with the correct Specifications, documents, models and security
- Assist the Development delivery unit move to an Agile delivery approach
- Ensure all changes and development is in line with agreed development standards and methodologies.
- Become hands-on, performing analysis and programming if/when required.
- Evaluate web services, hosted solutions and packaged solutions to ensure 'fit for purpose' and their fit with internal standards and agreed technical architecture.
- Ensure all web services, hosted solutions and packaged software is properly implemented with appropriate support in place.
- Ensure obsolescence, upgrades and any necessary refactoring are part of the software design and project delivery teams are aware of the size/nature of the changes. This will include the inclusion of any framework or tooling uplifts required.
- Support of Client Integration & Delivery.
- Support any client interactions into the Software Applications that are provided
- Provide technical assistance in terms of client meetings and understanding of the Applications provided.
- Have the ability to support and be accountable for any software that is designed and delivered into production
- Focus on continual improvement
- Participate in the management of the Applications Development and Support team and deputise for the Principal Application Architect in their absence, if required.
- Contribute and demonstrate in the PF Dev Group sessions to other show-casing the designs and delivery of PF UK
- Contribute to the Application Portfolio and Enterprise Architecture committees to high light the designs and delivery against the EA roadmap
- Look to improve through proof of concepts and R&D to support business challenges
