**Mechanical Design Engineer - Robotics**
**Location**:Bristol - Hybrid
**Duration: 12 Months**
**Rate**:£45 - £55 per hour - Umbrella **(Inside IR35)**

**Summary**:
My client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with good knowledge in mechanisms. You will be required to support the Mechanical team to design and build robotic and other hardware that support OCR's business and product objectives

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Support the design, development of, and build of snake-arm robots, industrial robots, tools, test rigs, sensors and other hardware (collectively hardware)
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to help develop and support other engineers as designs for new hardware is developed
- Work with the mechanical engineers to develop test criteria and procedures to validate electro-mechanical assemblies
- Continually and effectively communicate to all members of the mechanical team to maintain team cohesion

**Qualifications/Personal Attributes**:

- Degree level education, supported by significant industrial experience working in multi-disciplinary design teams
- Proven ability to produce high quality static analysis using ANSYS Workbench developing load cases based on static and dynamic loading, and able to document and communicate results
- Proven ability to develop and document tolerance stacks across multi-body assemblies and be able to support developing schemes that meet specification and maintain high levels of manufacturing capability
- Proven ability to develop test methods and carry out testing to validate calculations/analysis and support development of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Flexible in work attitude, and have a wider range of mechanical design and/or manufacturing skills to support product development

- Able to prioritise under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Flexible work attitude, happy to get stuck into any tasks to support the wider project team
