Page Personnel is partnering with a retail business based in Portsmouth who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their accountancy team on a full time permanent basis.
**Client Details**
Our client is a successful retail business who have seen rapid growth in the past 12 months. They are based in Portsmouth and do require travel to their offices but do also offer a hybrid model of working.
**Description**
As the Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the retail finance team as required in weekly and period end tasks, including preparation & posting of journals, bridge analysis concentrating on but not limited to opex, stock and delivery charges.
- Building and maintaining a business partnership with non finance colleagues providing information and analysis to assist in delivery of their requirements.
- Being the lead expert on operating expenses, stock & delivery charges proactively analysing and understanding the end to end process in order to add value and opinion.
- Support the budgeting and forecast process.
- Support finance training and presentations to non-finance colleagues
- Accurate and timely creation of reports as required
- Ownership for the stock reconciliation of the food retail business.
- Accurate & timely collation of weekly sales figures for internal and external parties
- Balance Sheet reconciliations of specific account codes as directed.
- Assist with completion of interim and final audit tasks
**Profile**
To be successful for the Assistant Account role, you must:
- Team player and proven communication skills with the personal credibility to work with non-financial colleagues at all levels
- High levels of accuracy coupled with personal flexibility with the ability to operate to tight period end deadlines
- Proficient in the use of excel supported by generally high levels of IT literacy with ability to manipulate data, identify trends and produce summary information
- Ability to influence stakeholders using technical and practical knowledge/experience
- Experience of working within a finance department - proven ability of management accounts, accruals, prepayments & analysis
- CIMA Studier, with desire to progress and continue with professional qualifications
**Job Offer**
