About The Role
**What You’ll Be Doing**
In the role of a **Senior Infrastructure Engineer**you will be regarded as the **Subject Matter Expert (SME)** and responsible for providing:

- Strategic expertise to ensure effective management of the technical and business Services for their specialist area.
- Accountable for the transition and ongoing support of the relevant solutions at CBS to meet business requirements and IT architectural strategy.
- Creation, quality and governance of technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment.
- A high level of technical knowledge to complete the troubleshooting and resolution to production incidents or problems to meet operational needs and ensures business as usual service is maintained to service and operational level agreements.
- The provision of assistance to the Architecture, Development and Support teams to implement and support solutions into the CBS estate. Looks for improvement opportunities which involve coaching, mentoring, planning, supervising, supporting and trainingof team members.
About You
**Essential Skills**:

- Demonstrable experience at a senior level working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 & 8.
- Expert Level Skill of RHEL O/S administration and configuration
- Expert Level Skill of Red Hat Satellite
- Expert Level Skill of Red Hat Tower ( or Ansible Automation Platform )
- Expert Level Experience of designing, building, deploying and supporting Application Server solutions.
- Expert Level Skill of crafting solutions on Red Hat Platforms.
- Expert Level Ansible Scripting skills
- Expert Level Shell Scripting skills
- Expert Level IT Security and of Hardening of the Operating System.
- Knowledge and concepts of multi factor authentication and TLS

**Desirable Skills**?**:

- Experience of Oracle Solaris 10 & 11
- Experience of Amazon EC2, ALB, RDS administration and configuration ( or cloud equivalent )
- Experience of CI/CD Pipeline administration or configuration
- Experience of Java Runtime Environment administration and configuration
- Experience of Performance tuning and Monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of Firewall configuration and administration
- Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Integration into Backup software solutions.
- Appreciation of RDBMS configuration and connections.

**Other essential information**:

- Available for out-of-hours support, on a rota basis.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Thorough, with a good attention to detail.
- Deliver to agreed timescales.
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.
