Hygiene Operative
An opportunity has become available for **Hygiene Operatives** to join a Food Manufacturing company based Lancashire. This is a permanent, full-time position.
As a Hygiene Operative you will work as part of a team to achieve the cleaning plan with specific regard for safety, quality and completion deadlines. You will ensure running of the effluent plant and waste removal, ensure site is kept clean, bunded areas and yard areas and stock levels are monitored and correct checks are completed.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Replenishment of cleaning materials
- Ensure that quality, safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained and that equipment is operated in the defined manner.
- Ensure that all machinery is made ready for cleaning, refer to your Supervisor / Manager for assistance.
- To create constructive ideas to contribute to the efficient running of hygiene team.
- To comply with all the company's policy and procedure requirements on trade waste and discharge. Ensure that all spillage are recorded, monitored and reported to the Hygiene & Site Services manager.
- Ensure that the effluent is treated with chemicals so that it complies with company policy specifications.
- Ensure that the calibration of pH probes is correct defective probes should be reported to the engineering department immediately
- To liaise with contractors (effluent/sludge disposal) to ensure non-trade waste is collected and recorded.
- Ensure that pH and COD levels are monitored &. If they do not comply with the specifications then they need to be reported immediately to the Hygiene & Site Services manager.
- Effluent and chemical spillage's must be recorded, monitored and reported to the Hygiene & Site Services manager and recorded.
- To liaise with companies coming on site to remove recycling materials.
- Auditing stock levels to ensure that we do not run out of product and also ensuring we are not overstock.
- Ensuring the correct segregation of cardboard, plastic and general waste.
- Ensure that equipment is operated correctly, efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner.
- Attend briefings/meetings as instructed by your manager.
- Ensure that when entering the factory, you wash and sanitise your hands and that protective clothing is worn at all times, this also applies to external duties. If workings in production inform cell manager that only end of line duties can be performed.
- Report defective machinery / equipment to the engineering department, Hygiene immediately.
- Ensure that all chemicals are used correctly, efficiently and in the most cost-effective way.
- Ensure that quality, safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained, and that equipment is cleaned in a manner so as not to damage it and to report any damage to relevant persons.

- There is a need to be punctual, flexible with the working hours
- The person must also have an ability to work independently and also have an exemplary attendance record
The working hours for this position is 4 on 4 off working, working alternative days and nights from 6am-6pm and 6pm to 6am.
