The overall objective of the role is to ensure effective and efficient management, and financial accounting and internal reporting for the VolkerWessels UK Group and VolkerServices. The role will be responsible for a team of qualified and trainee accountants. The objectives of the role include:

- manage internal Group reporting processes to enable accurate and timely reporting to the VWUK Board and our Dutch parent company
- become a financial partner to the VolkerServices Heads of Departments, leading in broader business initiatives and supporting with quality information and analysis

**Key accountabilities**:
Group Reporting
- Ownership of the monthly group management accounts
- Ownership of the consolidations for group reporting
- Managing holding company ledgers and statutory accounts

Budgeting and forecasting
- Preparation of the consolidated VWUK annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Support the VolkerServices Heads of Department in preparing and agreeing their annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

Analysis and MI
- Gather and bring together data across a number of systems, (both financial and non-financial,) in order to analyse the information, monitor variances, identify trends and recommend actions

Staff management
- Managing a team of qualified and trainee accountants
- Coaching and training of staff

**Skills & experience**:

- Graduate or equivalent
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA) or equivalent
- Proven business analysis skills driving benefits
- Proven business improvement / change record
