An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer - Electrical Systems to project manage, design and develop electrical systems across various electrical products for our extensive global client base. Teamwork is at the heart of our projects and you’ll be joining a proactive group inspired by sustainability ambitions; enabling our clients to realise their future ambitions.
**Job role**:
- Take on system lead responsibilities for the electrical content of small projects.
- Generate system and component requirements, based on features lists and cascaded project requirements and attributes.
- Support the design of suitable architectures for both systems and whole vehicles, including managing signal databases.
- Work with suppliers delivering components or system to a project.
- Assist with the build and fault-finding of projects.
- Generate system architecture diagrams and circuit drawings to support electrical design activity.
- Lead hazard analysis, risk management and DFMEA activities for components and systems as required.
- Define and execute system test and validation activities, both on products and on rigs
- Support virtual and physical builds for components and vehicles.
- Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences.
- Support technical and project reviews with the customer, acting as the WAE
- Representative, as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and all other departments.
- Understand and work to WAE, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members**.**
**You’ll have**:
- Strong proven track record in electrical integration within the automotive or autosport industries.
- An engineering qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Degree, Masters, CPD) and extensive in job relevant experience.
- Experience of Electric Vehicles - HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems.
- Good understanding of On Vehicle networks.
- The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Vector tools including CANalyzer is desirable.
- Experience of Requirements Capture Tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors is desirable.
- An understanding of functional Safety and ISO26262 is desirable.
- Project management qualification and or equivalent experience is desirable.
