The bid writer plays a key role in achieving our growth objectives by supporting the business throughout the bid process and delivering compelling copy in line with the company’s brand, position and processes. The Bid Writer will be responsible for writing high quality and compelling written content primarily for bid proposals but also to include marketing material, case studies and research projects. As a key member of the team, the bid writer develops and translates win strategies and business objectives into smart, consistent, customer-focused, error-free documents and presentations, project managing their own activity in line with the organisations bid plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Write the bid
- Researching and conducting a deep dive of project scope works instruction and client strategy documents
- Answer planning/storyboarding with technical and commercial teams to understand the question or scoring mechanisms and set a direction to deliver in line with your strategy.
- Forming an overarching view on, not just how the bid will be delivered, but also how the contract will be delivered and perform at an operational and strategic level while being delivered.
- Threading strategic objectives and win themes throughout bid responses.
- Identifying opportunities, synergies and added value in bids and with the writing function.
- Taking a proactive role in the writing of standard content, CVs and project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing/questioning relevant parts of the business.
- Proofreading or copy-editing responses to ensure compliant, compelling, benefits-driven copy
- Taking the lead in writing compelling, factual, focused executive summaries, and marketing content and incorporating client TQ responses.
- Working with the Digital Marketing Executive to develop ideas and bid content.
Continuous improvement
- Capturing all new content within the bid content library (aftercare).
- Recording and sharing lessons learned and best practices.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Demonstrable experience of writing and editing
- Excellent written English skills
- Thrives under pressure and love writing to a deadline
- Enjoys working with others (Subject Matter Experts) to extract their knowledge and present it in the best way for clients to engage and feel confident that this is a solution that exactly meets their needs
- Has excellent time management skills and can prioritise competing work demands effectively
- Can quickly build rapport with others and operate as a strong team player
**Salary**: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Croydon, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Technical Writing: 3 years (preferred)
