**Are you an experienced Finance Assistant with an understanding of double entry?**

**Do you have previous Purchase Ledger experience?**

**Do you come from a manufacturing background?**

If so, we have an exciting opportunity in Sandwich for a Finance Assistant to work for one of our clients who is an engineering contract manufacturer, specialising in supplying the defence and security sector.

Our client is offering a competitive salary depending on experience.

**As the Finance Assistant your responsibilities would include**:

- Daily bank reconciliations and monthly bank revaluations in multiple currencies
- Prepare bi-weekly BACS runs for review and submit approved BACS files
- Assist PL Clerk with complex queries
- Processing ad-hoc invoices
- Post SL invoices to Opera, reconcile the SL to ICAPS and issue SMT figures daily
- Prepare & submit EC Sales and Intrastat submissions on a monthly basis
- Analyse specified Nominal Ledger accounts
- Monthly control account reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and yearly management accounts
- Reconcile the VAT control account monthly and prepare for reviews
- Prepare accruals and prepayments
- Close off and reconcile Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
- Back-up for payroll
- Other duties as deemed reasonable

**Finance Assistant Person Specification**:

- Experience of Pegasus Opera or similar accounting software
- Advanced Excel essential
- Positive 'can do’ attitude
- Team focused
- Customer focused
- Solution focused
- Excellent communication skills
