Our client is responsible for the operations and maintenance of bulk fuel storage terminals throughout the UK.

This is a newly created role for a Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, to act as the Mechanical Maintenance Lead across all the client's Oil Fuel Depots, with responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective running of the maintenance and project managementfunctions.

You will be leading and directing a team of Depot Engineers taking full responsibility for all stages of development and implementation of site led projects and maintenance processes.

There is also a requirement to provide local support to Depot Engineers for site based Minor New Works projects and/or engineering works in collaboration with the nominated Project Engineers/Managers. This may involve concurrently overseeing multi-disciplinedcontractors who conduct engineering projects/maintenance and construction activities on our depot assets.

There will be a need to meet the Depot Engineers at their relevant location with regards to their site's assets. Therefore, some regular travel with overnight stays will be required, and a full (preferably clean) driving licence is essential for this role.

Responsibilities;
Oversee the mechanical maintenance of plant equipment across all the sites in order to maximise availability of fuel delivery of fuel to authorised demanders in line with relevant SLAs and OPA objectives and targets.

Provide technical engineering assistance to supervisors, technicians and Depot Engineers if required, around fault finding and repair of plant and equipment. Working in partnership with the HSSEQ Function to implement, manage and maintain the corporate HSSEQManagement System and Standards for the sites.

Identify and initiate Management of Change processes where there is a change to procedures, plant and equipment, people, or substances.

Responsible for developing and executing effective asset management strategies across all the sites

Drive continuous improvement programmes in the areas of maintenance efficiency and effectiveness,

Responsible for leading the weekly maintenance scheduling meeting and prioritising and allocating work with the Depot Engineers across the sites.

Lead and implement an Audit Process with a focus on meeting the requirements of all relevant standards and legislation. (CoMAH, CDM 2015 etc,)

Ensure smooth transitions of handover of capital and minor new work projects from project department to maintenance / operations, ensuring that spares requirements, training and communication are addressed

Required Experience and Qualifications

Ideally, you'll have completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Craft / Technician discipline craft apprenticeship with a minimum qualification of HNC / HND in a mechanical engineering discipline. You will have at least five years' experience in a responsibleengineering role within a high hazard industry, as well as having basic Project Management skills.
