**About us** Leeds Montessori Pre-School & Nursery - large children's day nursery in Roundhay We have an opening for a Full-time Temporary Nursery Cook at Leeds Montessori Pre-School & Nursery (Postcode: LS8 2LE) to cover for long term sickness. We were graded "Outstanding" in our last OFSTED inspection. We are looking for someone hard working, passionate about cooking, and effective in working in a team, must be willing to work alongside another cook on a job share basis. We are interviewing asap. **We are looking for;** - Minimum level 2 Food Hygiene/Safety Certificate. - Proven experience and ability to organise, plan and cook nutritionally balanced meals for babies and small children who have different dietary needs. - Understanding of food allergies and allergens. - The ability to use food preparation equipment and ensure the economic use of materials, equipment and energy, working independently - Ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks. - The ability to order correct amounts of food and control kitchen stock, and manage food ordering - To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times. **Main Duties**: - To plan, prepare, cook and present age-appropriate food to high standards in a clean, tidy, safe and pleasant environment. - To ensure responsibility for the effective daily management of the nursery kitchen with the Nursery Manager. - Work to a menu according to the requirements and guidance of the Government, Department for Education and Department of Health & Public Health. Salary will depend on experience and ability. A minimum of 1 year's cookery experience in a commercial environment is required. Prior experience in a nursery or school is preferred.
