AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a Secure Facilities Operations Specialist you'll serve as the strategic owner of AWS facilities that are critical to region operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring continuous facility availability, developing long-term capacity planning, and maintaining the highest standards of security and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage Facilities budget, purchasing, and strategic resource allocation
- Coordinate facility improvements and maintenance scheduling
- Oversee site planning, seating allocation, and facility utilisation reporting
- Develop and maintain power event procedures and operational runbooks
- Drive security standards and site parity across facilities
- Develop long-term capacity roadmap with 10-year horizon
- Manage strategic infrastructure upgrades
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing facility operations status and coordinating with various stakeholders. You might attend meetings with our global facilities team to plan maintenance schedules, work with Security teams to ensure compliance, or develop strategic plans for facility improvements. You'll manage seating allocations and respond to facility-related inquiries. You'll also spend time analysing capacity metrics and working on long-term planning initiatives.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience - Experience in facilities management or related field
- Experience with budget management and financial planning
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with security protocols and compliance requirements

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience managing secure facilities or data centers
- Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, and infrastructure systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with capacity planning and strategic facility management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, Kaizen)
- Experience developing and implementing KPIs for facility operations
- Background in managing vendor relationships and service contracts
