Opportunity to join an expanding team as a gardener in a stunning and manicured private garden in Buckinghamshire.

The role would be for ideal someone in the early stages of their horticultural career, or alternatively a maintenance gardener looking to learn and develop their horticultural skills and knowledge further. Whilst a formal horticultural qualification is desirable, it is not essential. Working closely with the Head Gardener, full training will be provided, and support given on the job.

Day to day responsibilities include;
- All aspects of garden care and maintenance
- Tending to borders, weeding, planting, and propagation.
- Some pruning, and hedge cutting.
- Greenhouse work, including propagation, and overwintering of plants
- Lawn care throughout the year, regular mowing, as well and seasonal renovations
- Help with the maintenance of irrigation system
- General duties around the garden, including cleaning and maintenance of hard surfaces.
- Enthusiasm and a can do attitude
- High level of attention to detail
- Passion for horticulture
- Willing to take and follow instruction
- Able to work as part of team, as well as independently
- High levels of self-motivation, and pride in their work
- Ability to work under pressure
- A good sense of humour

The role is incredibly diverse, with opportunities to support the Head Gardener creatively with planting schemes and container displays. The garden is immaculately maintained, and includes areas of mixed herbaceous borders, rock and dry gardens, shade borders and woodland. There are extensive lawns, including a fine croquet lawn. There is also a small vegetable garden, and glasshouse, used for propagation and growing of veg and annuals, as well as overwintering plants.

In addition to the main 2 acre garden, the garden team is also responsible for two other gardens in the village, overseen by the Head Gardener. These gardens include extensive lawns, wild flower meadow, orchard, and small woodland.
