**Catering Assistant | Host | Spire London East Hospital | Ilford**

Spire London East has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our Hospitality Team 30 hours Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover for which you will receive enhanced pay.

As a Catering Assistant you will assist in the preparation and delivery of a food and beverage service to patients, consultants in the restaurant and to patient rooms. You don’t require any formal qualifications for this role, but you will need some experience working in a catering role, great communication skills and a high standard of care.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Assisting with preparation, presentation and service of food and beverages to staff, patients and consultants
Delivering food to staff, consultants, visitors and patients in both the restaurant and wards
Taking orders from customers adhering to any special dietary requirements, allergies or specific needs
Maintaining adequate control of all stock through stock rotation, date checking and ensuring packaging is intact
Complying with the health and safety procedures in accordance with current legislation
General cleaning and washing up duties associated with a large commercial kitchen

**What we're looking for**

Experience of working in a catering role
Good communication skills
Ability to establish rapport with all customers
Have a committed approach to providing great customer service
Have the ability to work under pressure
Ability to work flexibly
Basic food hygiene certificate and awareness and understanding of Health & Safety at Work is desirable
