Van Owner Driver for a Collection Route Based in Harlow

**Job Overview**

The daily collections start at 5pm in Romford and collect from various set addresses in Gidea park, Hornchurch, Upminster, Grays, Billericay, Shenfield and Brentwood and returning to service centre in Harlow at approximately 8:15 pm. The route currently covers about 53 miles from the first collection and only has 10 stops so the volume is small.

A small van would be ideal.

As a self employed driver you will be responsible for your own tax and national insurance and fuel to cover the daily route.

Vetting will be required.

**Responsibilities**
- Safely operate a van to collect goods from set locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it meets safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, customers, and management regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

**Experience**
- Previous experience as a Van Driver or Delivery Driver is preferred but not essential.
- A valid driving licence is required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial for performing routine vehicle checks.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £65.00 per day

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
