Our schools are seeking LOCAL long term contract cleaning operatives to work from 6.00am to 8am, 6.30am to 8.30am and 3.30pm to 5.30pm at our schools in Whitechapel and Bethnal Green. Our hourly rate is £10.86, which equates to £4,235 per annum for 10 hours per week or £8,470 per annum for 20 hours per week.

We are offering our cleaning staff online COSHH courses, enabling our staff to safely use cleaning materials.

All our cleaning staff are required to have an Enhanced DBS certificate for Safeguarding and working within schools.

Our operatives are required to vacuum specific areas of the school, dust, wipe down desks and other surfaces. All aspects of cleaning will be undertaking including cleaning of the pupils and staff lavatories.

Reporting to: Caretaker/Premises Manager

£10.86 per hour - 10 hours per week Location: London Borough of Tower Hamlets

The position is for 39 weeks term time only Monday to Friday.

Our cleaning operative will work as part of a team to perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Caretaker/Premises Manager our schools are very successful and well-presented, diverse and well maintained Primary Schools.

We need operatives that will provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the School, be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of your designated area and for maintaining high and consistent standards. Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards. Liaise with Premises Manager and School Caretaker and other members of staff as required to ensure the cleaning rota operates smoothly around both school events and outside lets.

Report cleaning supply requirements and stock levels to the Caretaker, ensuring Health & Safety, quality and general procedure compliance, to work as part of a team and support other members of the cleaning team to meet standards and school objectives. Report any Health and Safety issues to the Caretaker or Premises Manager.

Knowledge of cleaning best practises, experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, disposing of waste, and replenishing consumables is required.

We are looking for operatives that have a willingness to clean any area of the school as requested by the Caretaker/Premises Manager, have a willingness to take personal responsibility for the standard of work carried out and a willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the school or Campion Cleaning Service.

You will need to have a willingness to maintain confidentiality on all school matters, will need to be able to manage some heavy lifting and work as part of a team.

You will need to have the ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team, work in an organised and methodical manner, act on your own initiative, deal with any unexpected problems that may arise and demonstrate commitment to Equal Opportunities.

You will need to be physically capable of undertaking cleaning work and all that it entails, be able to communicate effectively with team members and peers.
