Midday assistant

**Key areas**

To adopt our Nursery philosophy wholeheartedly
Work with children
Support all nursery practitioners and engage in a good staff team
Providing comfort and warmth to an ill/upset child
To attend staff meetings and training courses as required
To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job
To be flexible within working practices of Nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery
To be aware of the high profile of the Nursery and to uphold its standards at all times;
To advise the Team leader or other senior member of staff of any concerns eg. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary
To report all accidents to a senior member of staff
To carry out any duties asked to do by the room supervisor or a manager.

**Main Duties**

Before Lunch:
Prepare the children for lunch
To ensure that mealtimes are a pleasant event
Interact with the children
Assist the children with eating their lunch
Washing and changing children as required

After Lunch:
Help with cleaning the children and getting them ready for the afternoon.
Clear all pots.
Take all pots and washing down to the annex.
Wipe then wash all tables and chairs down
Sweep up all food and put into the bin, mop the floor.
Place all tables and chairs away safely.

Break Cover:
To cover breaks and book time as and where needed, this could be in any of the nursery play rooms this will involve playing and stimulating the children.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £12.21 per hour
