Phlebotomist

We are looking for a Phlebotomist to join our busy Conquest Hospital Phlebotomy team. This post will require some weekend working. Later in the summer we will be opening a clinic in Bexhill supported by the Conquest team. The post holder may work there on occasion.

As a team we provide a phlebotomy service to the hospital wards seven days a week and an outpatient clinic week days only.

To collect blood samples from patients in accordance with venepuncture, infection control and laboratory policies and procedures. This will include collecting samples within the hospital and the Phlebotomy Clinic in order to achieve efficient and effective patient care and effective resource management within the hospital.

The post holder will be required to complete and pass an in-house venepuncture competency programme.

The post holder will be required to be polite and diplomatic whilst speaking directly to medical staff or patients and provide advice solely on the process of obtaining samples within Phlebotomy. They will take telephone bookings and enter details on the department’s computer when a receptionist is not available.

The Conquest team will be staffing the new CDC in Bexhill. As part of this team you may be rostered to work in Bexhill.
