**What it’s like being a Science Manufacturing Technician Apprentice**
As a Science Manufacturing Technician apprentice, you’ll become an integral part of a well-established team. This is a dynamic and diverse role, where you’ll be working alongside the Production Lead and you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaininga chemical process plant in a safe and proper manner, to produce outputs that meet all customer and business unit specifications. This role will see you monitoring the process to enable the fulfilment of the production plan, while communicating any changesand risks to the plan to the Production Lead and production management.
In addition, you’ll be comfortable engaging with both, hands-on and admin-based tasks, as this role has elements of office-based work too.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, strong numerical skills and attention to detail. You’ll be sensible and mature with an explicit safety awareness. You’ll collaborate efficiently with the restof the team and you’ll be a natural problem-solver.

- C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English (however lower grades will be considered, so don’t be put off)
**So how does the apprenticeship work?**
At Tiro we’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we can’t wait to have you on board.
Over 21 months, you’ll devote 20% of your time to working towards a Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro, who’ll make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeedin your apprenticeship. In the workplace, you’ll have a mentor who will support and guide you in your work-based learning.
Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a University or College environment.
**The Package**

- Starting salary of £15,000 per annum (raising to £18,000 after 1 year and £21,00 after 2 years)
