We are working with United Learning to find an Exams Officer to join their team at Salford City Academy on a one-year contract. Due to the size of United Learning, it is highly likely there will be other opportunities within their 11 Manchester and Salfordschools.
United Learning have a great reputation as an employer who invests in training and development. Salford City Academy is an oversubscribed 11-16 school with excellent facilities, staffed by a committed and welcoming team.

This role would suit an organised School Administrator with initiative and strong IT skills.

**Important Details**:
- Salary is £25-£28k FTE (All year round).
- £22,576 - £25,286 term time + 2 weeks (41 weeks per year).
- The role is 41 weeks per year, but the school are happy to consider up to 52 weeks per year.
- Some flexibility on hours e.g., around the school run.
- 37.5 hours a week 08:00-16:00

**Duties of the Exams Officer**:
- Understand and comply with all internal and external exam regulations
- Manage arrangements for the secure receipt, checking and storing of exam papers
- Contribute to development of exam-related policies
- Work with the SENCO to ensure appropriate access arrangements adjustments for pupils
- Work with the finance team to ensure all exam fees are paid
- Manage the admin of reading and Midyis assessments
- Recruit, train and manage invigilators
- Ensure appropriate conduct during exams, in line with regulations
- Manage the logistics for exams, including timetabling, room booking, resources and staffing
- Ensure pupils are aware of their exam timetables, resolving clashes in accordance with guidance
- Carry out necessary admin tasks related to the organisation of exams
- Manage any unexpected issues or emergencies that arise during an exam
- Submit reports to examining bodies, as required
- Make arrangements for sharing results with students (e.g. results day)
- Ensure results are received by the school in a secure and confidential way
- Be familiar with data analysis reports and tools, and be able to share results with stakeholders
- Arrange receipt and distribution of exam certificates
- Undertake training as appropriate for the role
- Be familiar with training for staff involved in exams, signposting these where appropriate
- Assist with the collection of accurate data and update the academy MIS on all areas relevant to the school census
- Assist with the production of data for statistical returns to the Department for Education
- Provide admin support for the staff within the Academy
- Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports
- Produce mail shots for parents/carers, as directed
- Complete general clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, opening and distribution of mail
- Manage the central registration system Arbor including the adding students and staff as required
**The Exams Officer Must have Experience of**:
- School Administration
- Work with confidential and/or sensitive materials
- Supervising other members of staff
- Managing time and workload to meet deadlines
- Using a management information system (MIS)
- Working with data sets
- Working with regulatory organisations
- Complying with statutory regulations set by external bodies
**The Exams Officer Must**:
- Communicate effectively
- Be competent with common IT systems, e.g., Microsoft Office, MIS
- Analyse data
- Manage time and plan effectively
- Work flexibly and quickly under pressure
- Work across multiple projects and deadlines
- Follow policies and procedures set by the school and external agencies
- Be organised
- Be calm under pressure
- Work well in a team, and independently
