As a Health Care Assistant at Lindridge you will undertake duties related to the daily personal care of residents, in accordance with agreed programmes of care and under the general guidance of senior staff.
As an integral part of our motivated and dynamic team, you will ensure that service user’s physical and emotional needs, comfort and dignity are met and maintained, identifying and reporting any incidences of poor practice or abuse in line with the Safeguarding Policy. You will develop good relationships with residents under your direct care and provide them with daily care to help them maintain and improve, where possible, their independence, individuality and mobility.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**To be successful as a care assistant at Lindridge you will be**:
- Genuinely interested in working with older people
- Naturally caring and motivated to provide the best possible quality of life to our service users
**It would also be advantageous if you have**:
- Experience working with dementia patients or with older adults in a care home setting
- A qualification or certification in Health & Social Care (e.g. NVQ Level 2)
Flexibility with working patterns to include some weekend and evening work is essential.
We operate COVID secure home and have strict procedures in place to ensure the safety of all residents and staff. This includes regular Covid testing and wearing appropriate PPE, including a face mask to be worn at all times whilst on shift, unless medically exempt.
All staff working within Lindridge are legally required to be double Covid-19 vaccinated from 11 November 2021 unless they are medically exempt. It will only be possible for a newly appointed member of staff to start working at Lindridge once they have provided evidence of their vaccination status or a medical exemption.
MAIN DUTIES
- To assist residents to carry out their activities of daily living e.g. washing, dressing, eating and bathing including providing beverages for residents and their visitors.
- To contribute to ensuring effective communication with service users, their family, friends, external agencies and staff colleagues, referring enquiries about the residents’ condition to the Nurse in Charge.
- Always acting in a dignified and responsible manner with service users, visitors and colleagues; listening carefully and responding using appropriate language and communication skills which acknowledge cultural differences and professional boundaries.
- To contribute to the ongoing quality of service and care, identifying and promptly reporting any risk issues or other significant factors in relation to the service users’ health and social care.
- To assist qualified staff in the on-going assessment of residents, reporting any changes to the Nurse in Charge.
- To help residents choose from the menu, assist them with eating and report comments on food or requests for particular dishes to the Chef Manager.
