As part of the expansion of the IPS service we are able to offer exciting opportunities, for 4 permanent full time, Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Specialists in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust in the following areas within the community mental health team:
- Ilkeston
- Matlock
The Employment Specialists will be working with people who have a severe mental illness and support them into competitive employment and then enabling them to retain that employment.
The IPS team currently has 3 Peer Support workers, 7 Employment specialists, 1 Team Manager and 1 Service manager.
**The areas across Derbyshire where we work are**: Bolsover and Clay Cross, Amber Valley, Erewash, Derby city, South and South Dales and Buxton.
We also partner with South Yorkshire Housing who cover Chesterfield and Killamarsh.
You will meet with clients in the relevant communities in Derbyshire, and you will be required to travel around the area to meet clients and employers. Therefore, you will need access to your own vehicle. The post will be embedded within our community mental health team and you will work as part of a Trust-wide employment team.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Your caseload will be referred to you by clinical staff from the aforementioned Community Mental Health Teams on a voluntary basis and will be referred via our electronic patient system.
As this is a new role, there is currently no caseload and you will be expected to use your skills to promote the service to the CMHT.
You will attend the weekly CMHT and IPS teams meeting to introduce yourself and give positive feedback about the success of the service in the other areas to increase referral numbers.
Your caseload will consist of 20 people and you are expected to work with them on an individual basis in the community.
This could mean meeting in a library, coffee shop, community hub, town centre, but not in their home and not in a clinical setting.
Each person will have different needs and you must have excellent interpersonal skills to actively engage them, build trust and have an understanding of the impact of what being out of work for a long time does to a person.
Join 'Team Derbyshire Healthcare' and become part of a talented, compassionate and enthusiastic workforce committed to a vision of ‘making a positive difference in people's lives’.
CQC rated us as 'GOOD’ overall, commenting on how our colleagues “treated patients with compassion and kindness” and “felt positive and proud about working for the trust.”
