About Us:
Entering a major growth phase, we have a vacancy for a Finance Assistant within our family technology business, serving global clients.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in this small and supportive team and will have a wide range of tasks across the accounting function.

We are looking for someone who wants to add value and be proactive in identifying improvements in processes which can be implemented.

Main responsibilities:
Sales Ledger including sales invoicing, credit control, and customer queries

Purchase ledger management including posting invoices, checking statements, making payments, and dealing with queries

Processing employee expense claims

Posting credit card expenses and reconciling credit card statements

Arranging imports and exports worldwide

VAT Returns

Accruals, prepayments, month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations

Creating and maintaining spreadsheets for multi companies

Project analysis

Intercompany reconciliations

Maintaining stock records

Answering the telephone

Providing holiday cover for Purchasing and HR officer

Experience Required:
At least 2 years finance/accounts experience

Experience of using Sage would be an advantage

Confident user of Microsoft Office and Excel

Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers over the phone in a confident manner

Skills Required:
Effective communication - able to interact with colleagues and customers effectively and professionally.

Team player - create and maintain effective working relationships, supporting the finance team and the wider company. Share experience and knowledge.

Problem solving - ability to find effective solutions and understand the need of the customer.

Self-starter - able to work responsibly and without supervision.

Attention to detail - Ability to spot mistakes and rectify them.

Good time management and organisation

Flexibility - Be willing to adapt to different business scenarios

Qualifications required:
5 GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent.

At least 1 A-Level grade A-C or equivalent or relevant accounting qualification/experience
