An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the EACH-B Programme at the Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre (MRC LEC), University of Southampton. The MRC LEC mission is to promote human health using lifecourse epidemiological methods, integrating observational evidence, understanding of mechanism and implementation of intervention studies.

The MRC LEC, University of Southampton, is at the international forefront of developmental origins of disease research. It has an internationally competitive track record in both observational and intervention studies, and well-established links with the University's Institute of Developmental Science, NIHR Nutrition Biomedical Research Centre and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the EACH-B Programme, an intervention study aiming to improve diet and physical activity in adolescents. The job will involve coordinating aspects of the trial of the intervention and developing and conducting add-on projects to support the programme. Although a PhD is not essential, the successful applicant will have demonstrated a strong track record in biomedical sciences/ public health, including an honours degree, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work successfully as part of a close-knit team. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an area of personal research interest, and where the successful applicant does not already have a PhD. there may be potential for development of a PhD proposal with the University of Southampton.

The appointment is for 15 months.
