Design Officer / Eastbourne / Public Sector
**Description**
- To coordinate and design of a range of promotional printed materials such as brochures, information sheets, handbooks, forms, guides and other college publications.
- To administer, publish and monitor realistic production schedules for all the priority college course guides, in line with the MIS data production schedules.
- Organise meetings with curriculum staff to co-ordinate the production of Course Guides and other publications.
- Prepare concepts from an initial brief and present designs to the 'Design Executive, Head of Marketing and the College leadership team when required.
- To enforce a production quality control schedule and ensure that official procedures are adhered to, such as a document sign-off and budget code/cost center details have been acquired for any printed marketing materials before they go into production.
- To monitor, schedule and produce art-work for all pre-booked advertising and advertorial dates that will require art-working in time for external print and production deadlines.
- Ensure the delivery of correctly sized and pre-prepared artwork of digital designs for use across web and social media channels, utilising the skillsets of the other 'Digital Marketing Officers'.
- To ensure the new East Sussex College branding guidelines documents are updated and maintained, ensuring that they are also adhered to by the wider college..
- Meet with and maintain appropriate contact with printers and distributors, ensuring that we have the best service and value for money for our outsourced printing capabilities.
- Ensure that as a college we have obtained accurate quotes and raised Agresso requisitions from printers and other agencies when required.
- Liaise and coordinate with reprographics any arrangements for internal printing commissions.
- Organise photographic shoots to support the production of any College publicity marketing materials.
- Organise the preparation and distribution together with the 'Schools Liaison & Events Executive' of any promotional materials to community venues in the College's recruitment area and other key distribution agencies and points.
- To develop and lead student, parent and stakeholder consultation meetings looking at marketing materials across the college, collating feedback and analysis of information and effectiveness of designed campaigns, to be shared with the 'Head of Marketingand Communications' as well as the college leadership team when required.
- To manage and assess the workloads and demands from curriculum, ensuring that decisions are made together with the 'Head of Marketing & Communications' ensuring that priority marketing materials are produced by the required deadlines.
- Work as a member of the Communications team, participating in projects as required ensuring that a positive College image is presented at all times.
- Proof reading, copy writing and creative writing of publications and advertising material when required.
- To attend events and activities that support recruitment opportunities for potential students, including, Open Events and Introductory Days for Year 11 students, Taster Days for Year 10 students and Mini-Fest's or any other marketing events.
- Deputise for the 'Design Executive' as and when required.
- To ensure that a positive and professional College image is represented at all times through any marketing materials, especially those aimed at assisting in the transition of young people to the College.
- To participate in any required training and development activities that support the development of personal and professional effectiveness in the role and contribute to the service development and improvement.
**Profile**
- To encompass the use of Information and Learning Technology (ILT) as appropriate to his/her level of responsibility.
- To demonstrate a commitment to promoting and complying with, all colleges policies and procedures with particular reference to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding, Prevent, Financial regulations, Quality and Health and Safety.
- To undertake continuing professional development as appropriate. Take a full part in the College staff development program including the appraisal process.
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required by your line manager with the level and grading of the post, working flexibly across other areas of the department/division and College as required.
- To adhere to general standards of conduct embodied in College policies.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory legislation and standards (including safeguarding and General Data Protection Regulations) as required within the role.
**Job Offer**
£20 - £25 Per Hour
