Head of finance working for an academy trust in Lancashire. - Local Government Pension Scheme, Hybrid Working, 26 days hols + stats - Varied role across a number of different sites **Who will you be working for?** Maybe you were on the fence when you were going to, or graduating from University and consider a career in education and developing the minds of the next generation of leaders and thought "Could I be a teacher?" but you soon realised that teaching was probably not for you or you decided that your passion was more to engage people with finance rather than children with the national curriculum. You might however have always fancied the idea of working in a school or in and environment where you are contributing positively to the world rather than simply lining the pockets of shareholders. **What will you be doing?** As Head of Finance role you won't be stuck behind the same desk, you'll be out meeting with individual schools across the trust ensuring they have the financial and transactional support needed to be able to focus on providing the best education they possibly can to local children. Key areas of delivery will include: - Collaborating closely with the FD providing principals and budget Managers across all schools, providing regular financial updates and ensuring they understand and interpret financial data to support their decision making processes. - Controlling and challenging budgetary expenditure, identifying opportunities / risks to prevent overspend and always ensuring best value for money. - Delivering financial training to non-finance staff within the Academy Trust teams and liaise with other members of staff in relation to general financial issues. - Leading, managing and developing a small finance team. **What will you need to offer?** - Previous head of / finance manager / management accountant ideally within experience within the education sector, but it could be a good opportunity for someone to move into this sector. - Ideally knowledge of academy schools finance handbook - Qualified accountant - ACCA / ACA / CIMA / CIPFA or significant education finance experience - This role will cover several school sites so access to a car is needed and you'll need to live within a commutable distance of the HQ in Lancashire. **What's in it for you?** - c£45,000 - £50,000 depending upon relevant experience - Flexible working and hybrid working available, but with regular site meetings in person across the Lancashire region so you'll be likely onsite at schools or HQ at least 3 days per week. - Scenic HQ office location and onsite parking at all locations - Local government pension scheme - 26 days holiday plus statutory days - 37 hour working week
