Readymix Transport

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Readymix Transport & Shipping Co-ordinator**to join our Readymix Concrete business. The role will be based at our Head Office in Huddersfield and is a **full time and permanent position.**

**Myers Readymix** are a well-established concrete business operating in West and North Yorkshire and part of the progressive family owned Myers Group. You will provide support to the internal sales function for the Readymix businesses whilst supporting the Readymix Sales Team.

**The duties and key responsibilities include**:

- As Transport/Shipping Co-ordinator, you will focus on the planned and reactive scheduling.
- Prioritising scheduling and customers orders.
- Allocate loads to drivers, giving clear instructions
- Maximise truck utilisation.
- Dealing with customers enquiries quickly and professionally to meet customer expectations
- Record driver holiday/time requests for visibility of driver resource.
- Working Saturdays on rota basis.
- Contact for handling collections and weighbridge.
- Managing the Readymix mailbox.
- Manage drivers breaks for Tachograph laws around workloads.
- Maintain diary notes for service issues to aid commercial decision making.
- Deal with customers complaints and defuse situations with diplomacy.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Company from time to time, as instructed by or under the direction of your immediate supervisor.

**To become our Readymix Transport & Shipping Co-ordinator we are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes**:

- Experienced professional preferred with a shipping background
- A Strategic understanding of the industry, coupled with concrete knowledge beneficial
- Must be flexible with hours, start and finish times will fluctuate daily between 06.00-17.00, however the finish time are work dependant.
- Must be sufficiently mobile and flexible to work beyond the call of duty to achieve results.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative,
- Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to confidentially give instructions to drivers.
- Excellent note taking and ability to retain important information given in fast paced environment.
- Attention to detail when taking orders.
- Excellent customer services, professional polite phone manner.
- PC literate, Office 365, Teams, order taking software.
