This post is within the Community Therapy group supporting the Matrons in providing dynamic, professional and operational leadership within the designated service structure within the Community, Frailty and Therapy Group. The postholder will be responsible for managing and monitoring core functions within a range of services. They will actively support the Service and Matrons in providing information and performing delegated management tasks. They are key to maintaining links between clinicians and primary care and social care partners. They will also maintain clinical function within the teams in managing services in the community, the postholder will be expected to operate autonomously to deal with the day-to-day management issues and interpreting clinical policies and procedures on a day to day basis to support the clinical staff. This will include escalation to the Matron/Deputy Nurse Director where appropriate.
The post holder will be accessible and have a visible presence, advising and supporting their teams, patients and their families/ carers to ensure effective patient care across the whole patient pathway. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all staff are fully competent and possess the appropriate clinical skills to deliver a high standard of care to our patients and will be accountable for the direct delivery of the clinical service by themselves and their team as the first line manager.
The post holder will be supporting the Matron of Community Integrated urgent care portfolio where they will be accountable for their practice either clinically and/or line managing teams to maintain efficiency and patient safety. Main duties involve absence monitoring, roster, PADR, performance management, patient complaints management, audits, QI projects, recruitment process, supporting staff with training including to operate safely through provision of equipment etc.
