- This role could suit someone who has strong experience who is ready to take the next step in their career to manage a team, or it could be that you are someone with experience of managing a small team in a different sector, who is looking for a new challenge. As you will be joining a small team, you need to be prepared to take the lead in managing workflow whilst also being hands-on and supporting the team to ensure work is completed in a timely manner._

**What you will be doing**:

- Maintain accurate financial records by managing and supporting the sales and purchase ledger processes
- Prepare and monitor reports for management review on a weekly and monthly basis
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning
- Completing online customer purchasing portals
- Taking corporate card payments
- Weekly sales ledger balancing
- Supporting with VAT Compliance - quarterly and yearly returns
- Recording and resolving queries promptly to retrieve payments
- Opening new customer accounts in line with company policy
- Ensuring customer accounts and invoices have the necessary detail and supporting documents to ensure prompt payment
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Managing and balancing of bespoke Excel monthly summaries outside of Sage
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
- Providing support to your accounts colleagues and demonstrating flexibility
- Ensuring all invoice queries are resolved by liaising with your colleagues in other departments
- General sales/purchase ledger based filing
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to compliance regulations.

**About You**:

- Proven experience in an accounts role is essential
- Familiarity with accounting software is essential, Sage Line 50 experience is desirable
- Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger/Credit Control experience is required
- Office 365 knowledge and generally IT proficient
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- An analytical mindset, able to work both in a small team as well as alone
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
