Formal/Special Occasion Dressmaking and Alterations experience is essential with 10+ years of professional dressmaking sewing experience minimum.

Hours and rate of pay by negotiation. Working days usually Monday-Friday.

Full job description

You must have experience with evening, bridal or special occasion dressmaking although you will not be involved with fittings.

**Responsibilities**:
Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and stitching

Produce accurate dress patterns from design drawings and customers measurements

Measure and cut fabric and other materials based on patterns and designs

Sew and assemble garments according to customer specifications using a sewing machine.

Utilize industrial sewing machines and other tools to craft garments with precision.

Use various sewing techniques and equipment to create high-quality garments.

Perform alterations and adjustments to garments as required.

Follow pinning and written sewing instructions accurately.

Check for defects in the finished product.

Meet production deadlines while ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting efficiency and creativity.

Please note that this position requires at least ten years experience working as a professional dressmaker. Experience working in a warehouse setting is not relevant to this role.

**Requirements**:
Proven experience as a professional high-end dressmaker, demonstrating proficiency in pattern making, cutting, garment construction and assembly.

Exceptional attention to detail and precision in both measurements and sewing.

Excellent knowledge of different fabrics, their characteristics, and appropriate handling methods

Ability to interpret patterns and follow instructions accurately.

Excellent time management skills to consistently meet deadlines.

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 - 35 per week
