As a **Head of Strategic & Corporate Finance**you’ll play a vital role in**supporting the delivery of the Strategic Finance functions activities, including the direction for creating an outcome focussed Medium Term Financial Strategyfor both revenue and capital across the Council, and contributing to the development of the Council’s treasury management strategy and management of the pension fund.**

**About the role**:
**Based in Tower Hamlets (Hybrid),**you will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

- This role reporting to a deputizing for the Director of Finance, Procurement & Audit is a key position predominantly overseeing the development of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy.
- It is essential that the post holder would have senior level experience in a Local Authority environment in collating the Medium Term Financial Strategy report and leading the organisation through a Budget Setting process including engaging with Membersand senior leadership across the organisation.
- The role will be responsible for managing business partner support for our Resources and Chief Executive Directorates.
- This is a senior role leading MTFS Corporately, leading meetings with elected Members and the Corporate Leadership Team of the Council. Finance staff who do not have the relevant experience working at a senior level, or who have worked within service financein an MTFS role but not Corporately will not be suitable.

**About you**:

- Expert knowledge and understanding of strategic financial management and financial regulatory frameworks in accountancy, and in particular the public sector
- Knowledge of requirements to maintain a planned and coordinated budget planning / management process, maintaining the necessary communication/ liaison with key stakeholders, including members, directors, finance colleagues etc.
- Knowledge of the requirements to manage a Medium-Term Financial Strategy, and the associated corporate issues, risks and challenges
- Expert knowledge of complex financial appraisal techniques for projects to support decision making
