**HV Substation Supervisor, Technician and Installer roles available**
- **HV Substation Supervisor**_

**Key Responsibilities**

**Team & Site Management**: Lead and supervise electrical and civil teams, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in substation works.

**Health & Safety**: Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, manage safety documents like permits and RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements), and ensure compliance with regulations.

**Project Oversight**: Monitor the construction, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage substation equipment and associated lines to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality.

**Technical Compliance**: Ensure that all electrical and civil work adheres to design drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.

**Documentation & Reporting**: Maintain accurate project records, prepare daily reports, and ensure all necessary documentation, including redline drawings, is kept up-to-date.

**Stakeholder Communication**: Liaise with project managers, clients, utility companies, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues, coordinate activities, and maintain client satisfaction.

**Technical Support**: Provide technical expertise, support commissioning activities, and assist with troubleshooting complex electrical or mechanical issues when necessary.

**Essential Skills & Qualifications**

**Experience**: Proven experience in HV substations (typically 33kV and above), with a strong technical background as an HV electrician or fitter.

**Supervisory Skills**: Demonstrable experience in team supervision and site management.

**Technical Proficiency**: Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, and a deep understanding of high-voltage systems, transformers, and circuit breakers.

**Safety Certifications**: SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

**Communication**: Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.

**IT Skills**: Proficiency with relevant software for reporting and documentation, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

**Driving Licence**: A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites.
- **HV Substation Technician**_

**Key Responsibilities**

**Installation and Commissioning**: Installing new HV equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and busbars.

**Maintenance and Testing**: Performing routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and protection relays.

**Electrical Operations**: Conducting electrical switching operations to isolate equipment for maintenance or repair.

**Safety and Compliance**: Adhering to and supervising adherence to strict health, safety, and environmental compliance in the work area.

**Documentation**: Completing and maintaining detailed work and safety records, and using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

**Technical Expertise**: Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic tools, and testing equipment for HV systems.

**HV System Knowledge**: Deep understanding of medium and high voltage substation electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and control systems.

**Safety Acumen**: Strong commitment to safety procedures, including the ability to receive and clear safety documents and manage working party supervision.

**Problem-Solving**: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

**Communication**: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders.

**Certifications**: Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience in the substation trade.
- **HV Substation Installers**_

**Key Responsibilities**

**Installation**:
Install and fit high-voltage equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, isolators, and earthing systems.

**Commissioning & Testing**:
Assist with the commissioning and conduct specific installation testing of new equipment and systems to ensure proper function and compliance.

**Technical Interpretation**:
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications to guide installation work.

**Site Preparation**:
Prepare the work site by organizing necessary tools, equipment, and consumables, and ensuring a safe working environment.

**Safety & Compliance**:
Adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental regulations, including using safety documentation, permits to work, and appropriate control measures.

**Documentation**:
Complete work and safety records accurately, and maintain work site documentation.

**Teamwork**:
Collaborate effectively with other fitters, support operatives, site managers, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
