**Job details**:

- Salary Competitive plus excellent benefits
- LocationManchester
- Discipline People
- Reference022982

**The role**

**What will you do as Colleague Engagement and Content Partner?**
- Partner with leaders and teams right across the business to understand what’s happening and how best to share it with colleagues acting as a trusted advisor on messaging, timing, and audience needs
- Create digital content and assets such as images, graphics, and short videos (using tools like Canva), while exploring new formats such as GIFs, podcasts, and animations to diversify engagement.
- Plan and deliver campaigns, events and activities — from town halls and Q&As to culture-building initiatives — that connect colleagues with strategy and celebrate success.
- Proactively build strong connections and an editorial calendar to spot opportunities, anticipate upcoming comms needs, and turn updates into engaging stories.
- Support leaders and managers with toolkits, FAQs and talking points to ensure consistent cascades and make it easier for their teams to stay informed and inspired.
- Measure impact through data and feedback (e.g. open rates, click-throughs, surveys, sentiment) and use insights to refine and continuously improve how we communicate

**What skills and experience will you have?**
- Ideally you’ll have some experience (1-2 years) within communications, content creation, journalism, PR or marketing - or a strong portfolio of work if you’re at the start of your career.
- For the right person, this role could be a great opportunity for a recent graduate who’s keen to learn. There’s also potential for us to support a Level 4 apprenticeship.
- A strong copy writer and natural storyteller, with faultless written English and great editing skills - you can spot the human angle in a business update and adapt tone of voice for different formats and audiences.
- Creative flair and an eye for detail with the ability to create simple and engaging digital content assets - such as images, graphics, and short videos - ideally using tools like Canva. Bonus points for familiarity using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, video editing, or intranet CMS.
- Highly organised and comfortable juggling different projects and deadlines (and keeping things moving when plans change).
- Confident working with stakeholders at all levels - you’re a people person and know how to build trust and influence.
- A genuine interest in colleague experience, engagement and culture, as well as how communication drives performance and inclusion.
- Energy, curiosity and a collaborative approach, bringing fresh ideas and a willingness to experiment with new channels and formats.

**What’s in it for you?**
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office at a minimum)
- 24 days holiday (+ 8 bank holidays)
- Annual bonus scheme
- Enhanced maternity and adoption leave
- Company pension with up to 8% N Brown contribution
- Mental Health support both internally and externally, including access to our wellbeing champions and counselling services
- A range of financial wellbeing support
- Colleague discount across all N Brown brands
- Onsite café with subsidised rates and local restaurant discounts
- Life Assurance and Private Medical Insurance
- Paid volunteer time - all our colleagues can take a full day paid to volunteer for a charity of their choice

**N Brown - who we are and why work for us?**

At N Brown, we’re committed to building a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive environment that values equality for all. Our vision is that by ‘championing inclusion, we’ll become the most loved and trusted fashion retailer’. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging are, therefore, at the heart of our culture.

We’re a forward-thinking digital retailer with a financial services proposition to be proud of. We’re customer-obsessed, serving them through three core brands: JD Williams, Simply Be, and Jacamo. We’re experienced, with over 160 years of trading under our belt. We’re inclusive, as we believe in fashion without boundaries; and we’re sustainable, striving to make as little impact on the planet as possible.

In May 2024 we were delighted to be named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024. We work hard to create a happy and inclusive culture for everyone and we’re so proud to have made this list - as voted for by our very own colleagues

**Ways of Working**

We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat

Our working hours are 36.17 per week and our core working hours are between 10am - 4pm. Given we don’t have strict working hours you can find the working pattern that’s right for you.

**Our promise to you**:
We’re an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. W
