**What is the purpose of the role?**

**Job Title**: Technical Manager

**Location**: West Midlands

**Salary**: Competitive

**Employment Opportunity**: Permanent

**Your duties are but not limited to**:

- Survey project works for repairs and service contracts when requested
- Undertake tender stage surveys when requested
- Specify materials, products and components required to deliver Customer requirements
- Undertake competence and training assessments of new engineering employees
- Review technical progress of engineering apprentices in all departments at 6 monthly intervals
- Deliver technical and regulatory Toolbox Talks to engineering teams across the Company
- Work with the Supervisors, Technicians and Testers to produce in-house training manuals for inclusion in the technical library and technical toolbox talks
- Be on the Duty Supervisor on-call rota - the company provides 24/7/365 service to a wide client base and flexibility to accommodate a regular rota position as Duty Supervisor for out of hours response is essential
- Be mobile based with an allocated company vehicle for which you will be responsible for care
- Receive a clear DBS check
- Assist the Supervisors by undertaking a proportion of their supervisor quality and compliance audits on sites
- Undertake pre-handover defects inspections on projects and repairs when requested
- Maintain KPI records on defects found pre
- and post-handover of work for trend monitoring purposes
- Liaise with this team of employees on a regular basis to understand challenges and opportunities

**To be considered for this role you will have**:

- Experience working in a similar role.
- Excellent technical ability.
- Problem solver who can seek positive alternatives.
- Experience of Lift Testing and test sheets
- Experience in fault finding and call out response within Service Level Agreement response periods
- An NVQ qualification of relevance to the role, at Level 3 or higher (or equivalence via ENTRA qualifications if applicable)
- An NVQ qualification of relevance to the supervisory role, at Level 2 or higher would be an advantage
- Experience in working with electrical installations.
- A demonstrable knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Ability to undertake Site Safety Visits
- Full UK Driving License
- A valid CSCS card
