Job description:
Lead effective and proactive customer service in the interests of client retention and growth
Support the Branch Manager by delivering against productivity, supplier management and people development targets
**Key Accountabilities**
**Leadership and People Management**
- To lead by example and motivate the UK Chemicals Seafreight Operations Group.
- Effective people management and coaching to ensure talent retention, development, succession planning and flexibility to accommodate business growth and change.
- Provision of energetic leadership that will include regular internal team and cross-functional meetings.
- Supporting the Human Resource Management effort by ensuring tight policy / process management and compliance.

**Customer Service**
- To direct and coach customer service excellence such that no business is lost for reasons of poor service perception.
- Support for Operational Key Account Managers with regards to customer performance review meeting inputs, including reporting, and KPIs and associated commentary.
- To support and drive the Operational Key Account Management effort, in terms of retention, growth and compliance and to manage effectively key accounts that are assigned directly to the job-holder.
- Providing support to the Business Development effort including potential new customer visits, RFQ document contribution and implementation support,
- To support the Branch Manager with process discipline, productivity improvement and cost reduction targets.

**Supplier Relationship Management**
- To develop and strengthen supplier relationships by supporting and leading structured and data-driven supplier review

**Projects**
- To lead / support assigned projects in the interests of business performance and personal development.

**Person Specification**
- The individual must be a strong influencer with excellent verbal / written communication skills that can be adapted to suit customer, supplier and internal relationships at all levels within those organisations.An energetic and positive disposition thatmotivates individuals and large teams to succeed is key.
- The job-holder must be well organised with a keen focus on compliance and professionalism.
- The job-holder must be a positive advocate for change and possess strong commercial acumen.They must have a passion for customer excellence and recognise the importance of developing strong and lasting supplier relationships.
- Experience in freight forwarding and international logistics is essential and exposure to the Chemicals Industry is highly desirable.
- The job-holder must possess strong IT skills, a valid driving license and be prepared for some international travel to fulfil the requirements of the role.
