**Overview**
**About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and enthusiastic team player to coordinate the operation of our canine kennel facility supporting our team of higher education academic staff in the delivery of our canine undergraduate programmes.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Daily care, watering, feeding, cleaning kennels, hygiene and exercise of dogs including routine and frequent checks throughout the day.
- Initial assessment of dogs to determine behavioural characteristics and suitability for kennel boarding and use within supervised student training and handling activities.
- To develop and implement procedures to ensure that our kennels continue to reflect high professional standards and for managing the welfare of the dogs in our care.
- Liaise with colleagues to coordinate kennel boarding, as our kennels provide a home during the day for dogs of Reaseheath College staff.
- Supervise students and staff in kennel operations and canine handling and coordinate access to dogs to support canine practicals.
- Demonstrable experience of working with canines, preferably within a kennel boarding environment.
- Be confident in handling all breeds of dogs and canine behaviour traits.
- Have good organisation and planning skills are essential, as is an ability to work unsupervised and being prepared to work outside, whatever the weather
- Have level 2 Maths and English.
