Assistant Merchandiser

**Role Summary**:
We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Merchandising team. Reporting into the Senior Merchandiser, you will be assisting in all areas of Merchandising to ensure department profit and turnover objectives are met.

As an Assistant Merchandiser you will be responsible for analysing sales, trading, supporting the Senior Merchandiser to ensure we have the best range and ensuring the critical path dates are achieved. You will also have the opportunity to develop and train Merchandising Admin Assistants and Interns so previous coaching and development experience would be a distinct advantage. Reporting, planning and the ability to communicate effectively will be a crucial part of this role.

You will also support the Senior Merchandiser with ad hoc and day to day running of the department.

**Responsibilities**:
Trading
- roduce trading reports to summarise, analyse and identify key sales drivers
- Gain a good understanding of product performance and articulate in Best/Worst meetings
- Make weekly trading proposals to Merchandiser in relation to Sales Reactions and Stock Management
- Competent in forecasting Category WSSI, and Line card projections for continuity product
- Manage intake in conjunction with the Buying department, ensuring critical dates are met for product launch
- End of season sale proposal - complete roll up in line with budget spend and timelines
- Liaise with E-comm team with regards to Visual Merchandising of web and weekly marketing plans
- Liaise with Branch Merchandising team to ensure stock is optimized across channels

Planning
- Ensure good understanding of key planning documents and able to complete history accurately
- Assist in the construction of the optimum range plan with supporting analysis, ensuring all documents accurately completed within buying cycle timeframe
- Contribute to range building discussions with the use of Lessons Learnt
- Ensure Buy Documents are accurate and kept up to date to support category stock plans
- Support Merchandiser with Building category WSSI in relation to sales phasing and required stock builds
- Ensure Sizing is regularly reviewed and balance back orders placed for core lines

Merchandising systems
- Develop excellent working knowledge of Merchandising System
- Identify and propose improved working practices
- Action integrity checks regularly to ensure smooth running of department

Management, Training and Development
- Manage and oversee workload of Merchandising Admin Assistant on a day to day basis
- Oversee the training and development Merchandising Admin Assistant
