The Chaplaincy team helps to provide spiritual, religious and pastoral support for patients, staff and visitors at the University Hospital of Hartlepool and at the University Hospital of North Tees.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Lead Chaplain with other members of the Chaplaincy team to ensure these services are developed and delivered across the whole trust and that these are of a high quality.
1. To share in the spiritual and pastoral care of patients, staff and visitors in the hospitals and departments of the Trust, whether or not they uphold a particular faith tradition or not, by visiting patients and staff in the wards and departments regularly and thereby maintaining high visibility and availability, as directed by the Lead Chaplain,
1. To meet any particular denominational responsibilities whilst also respecting and honouring the requirements and traditions of those of different denominations or faiths. To be a resource for the Trust and its staff on personal, spiritual and professional issues, with a particular responsibility for Muslim matters.
1. To share in the services of public worship in the Chapel/Oasis spiritual centre and in other suitable places, particularly in the preparation and leadership of Friday Prayers when available. This may on occasion include the administration of infant Baptism.
1. To take opportunities for training and development in Chaplaincy matters, and to establish suitable personal support.
1. To maintain links with the local and wider spiritual leaders, as well as other community links (within the limits of confidentiality), in order to facilitate appropriate and continuing spiritual care for those admitted to and discharged from hospital.
