Our client, an Investment Management firm based in the West End of London are looking to recruit a Settlements Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for the accurate allocation of Equity & Fixed Income client trades, resolving any incoming queries from clients and brokers on booking and settlement issues, to manage settlement processes for all markets, static data set up and maintenance, collaboration with Finance and Compliance teams on all aspects of tasks carried out within Settlements. Daily, monthly & quarterly reconciliation and reporting duties.

Main responsibilities of the Settlements Officer will include;
- Pre matching process across all markets to reduce risk exposure and ensure smooth settlement.
- Fail management processes for all markets - ensure smooth settlement, follow up failing trades with clients and CP's to chase for shares, keep accurate and detailed notes on each trade and distribution of weekly fails report to Front Office and Management. This includes depot management processes and movement of stock between depots as needed, working with BNP to obtain necessary template formats and saving these in the procedures folder for future use.
Static data - input and maintenance - setting up new sub accounts in Fidessa FDM and Inferno, ensuring brokerage and commission rates are accurate and updating as requested. Use Alert to obtain SSIs as needed.
- Work with Finance on resolving cash and stock reconciliation breaks.
- Liquidity Management - Ensure that the BNP overdraft is kept to a minimum at all times and offer partials to clients/CPs as needed. Ensure accurate and detailed information is saved in the G/BNP Overdraft folder for reference. Alert Front Office to any issues faced on a daily basis.
- Reporting - Produce daily end of day reports to be sent to clients.
- Produce monthly reporting on fails data to be sent to Compliance and Risk. (KRI Data)
- Daily Stamp Duty Reconciliation
- Analyse the BNP overdraft charge statement, any amounts over the threshold, investigate and raise to Front Office for further direction on steps to be taken.
- Front to back systems & process knowledge including Fidessa, Inferno and Omgeo
- CTM trade confirmation process knowledge & resolution of issues.
- Product knowledge for Equity & Fixed Income settlement markets including market nuances.
- Equity & Fixed Income market knowledge - high risk markets, BUY IN rules etc.
- Primary placement deal experience.
- General understanding of Regulations.
