**Job description**

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimating Assistant to join our commercial team. The role will be full time on a permanent contract, within a fast-paced environment and will be based at our Glasgow Head Office. Whilst the role will suit someone seeking an administrative role within a small team, there is also optional progression via training and development, initially to Assistant Estimator level.

**Duties include**:

- Logging in tenders and allocating an enquiry number in line with QA procedures
- Downloading and saving tender documentation
- Inputting bills of quantities into estimating software (software training provided)
- Managing our supply chain database
- Issuing sub-contractor and supplier enquiries
- Inputting quotes received into estimating software
- Administering and saving returned quotations to the respective enquiry folder
- Coordination of tender queries
- Updating and preparation of tender registers, reports and associated spreadsheets
- Assist with the preparation of handover documents for successful tenders
- Assist the Estimating Manager with their regular duties
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tender returns including any portal upload
- Assist with the preparation and submission of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ's)
- General administrative duties

**Requirements and skills**:

- Excellent administration skills and conversant in Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail
- An ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise workload
- An ability to work independently but also participate fully as a team member
- Administrative experience in a similar environment
- Experience of working within the construction industry
- A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
- Polite, courteous and professional

Pay: £24,459.00-£35,569.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Estimating: 1 year (preferred)
