Dressmaker/ Seamstress

We are looking for an experienced dressmaker/ seamstress/ tailor who can focus on and support the creation of our collections and client orders to join our team. The role will initially be part-time but we may have the opportunity for full-time later on.

You will need to have a strong understanding of garment construction and cutting. Some hand sewing will be involved to finish garments. We require sewing skills and confidence in using sewing machines. No pattern-making skills are required, as we have experienced pattern makers in-house.

Training on the specific garments manufactured will be given. We are a friendly and thriving business based in Aylesham, Canterbury specialising in custom occasion clothing, bridals and childrenwear. We are a fun fast-growing team producing a wide variety of garments.

There will be opportunities for further training and progression. All work is undertaken in our Aylesham, Canterbury workroom.

We are looking for a Dressmaker that is available to work flexible days.The days are usually Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The role
- Creating bespoke and ready-to-wear pieces using the finest traditional sewing and tailoring techniques. All patterns are made by our experienced in-house pattern makers, and you will only be required to sew and do some cutting.
- Position pattern on garment fabric and be able to cut fabric along outlines
- Attend client fittings, measure client for size and record all measurements
- Complete alterations by needle and thread or sewing machine
- Cutting, mounting, hand/or machine sewing and pressing all parts of the tailored garments
- Good experience in sewing techniques
- Experience working in fashion
- Excellent construction knowledge
- High attention to detail

Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
