**Police Vetting** - You will be required to undertake a Greater Manchester Police vetting process.
You will have line management responsibility for a team of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Officers and ASB Support Officers who are dedicated and motivated to make Manchester City Centre a safe place to live, work and visit. This vacancy presents a rare opportunity to join a team recognised for best practice in tackling ASB. You will lead and support your team to use a broad range of informal and formal powers to protect those who are vulnerable, reduce crime and ASB and change the behaviour of offenders.
You will also need to lead on face-to-face public engagement, encouraging a high profile, visible presence with partner agencies in the City Centre.
You and your team will work a rota pattern between the hours of 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturday.
**About the team / service**
The Anti Social Behaviour Action Team is comprised of three teams covering the City Centre, the North, and South and Central. This position is dedicated to Manchester City Centre. The Anti Social Behaviour Action Team is part of the wider Community Safety, Compliance and Enforcement Service.
You will find a supportive working environment with opportunities for training and development. You will be encouraged to develop new ideas and approaches to meeting our key objective of making Manchester City Centre safer.
You will need to be a knowledgeable and experienced ASB practitioner with line management experience, or experience of coaching and training ASB practitioners. You will need to demonstrate:
- Experience of using informal and formal ASB powers to stop anti-social behaviour and protect the public.
- Experience of developing positive and effective working relationships across a variety of partnerships.
- Confidence in your ability to lead a team and support, guide and coach team members to meet the challenges presented by Manchester City Centre community safety and ASB issues.
- Ability to make informed decisions at speed and explain your rationale for your decision making.
- The ability to design and develop training packages across the Community Safety Partnership.
