As Futures Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the long-term strategic direction of TPR by embedding futures thinking and insight-led innovation into policy development. Drawing on trend forecasting methodologies, you will lead the creation of a continuous discovery framework for innovation that enables regulatory and policy teams to anticipate change, surface emerging signals, and translate user insight into proactive strategic action.

You will guide cross-functional teams through horizon scanning, scenario development, and speculative design to explore complex policy challenges providing expert input helping teams to identify behavioural risk in the context of innovation evaluation, and the evolving pensions landscape towards ensuring TPR remains adaptive and future-fit.

To build institutional foresight, you will develop and curate the Future Pensions Archive a live repository of trends, insights, and provocations that inform thought leadership, strategic conversations and professional development across the organisation and with external stakeholders.

You will also cultivate strategic partnerships and foster collaboration across the pensions ecosystem, ensuring TPR’s regulatory approaches are aligned with the changing needs of savers and the industry. Through storytelling, synthesis, and systems thinking, you will help embed a futures mindset across TPR, enabling teams to move from reactive to anticipatory policy design.
